A 58-year-old man died this morning in a house fire registered in the Seville town of Écija, as reported by Emergencias 112 Andalucía.

The event took place at 2:20 a.m. when the neighbors alerted Telephone 112 of a fire in an apartment located on Avenida Cristo de Confalón.

According to witnesses, the balcony of a second floor was on fire, so the coordination room activated the Provincial Council Firefighters, the 061 Health Emergency Center, which mobilized a medical team and an ambulance from Écija, the Police National and Local Police.

When the emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident, they could only confirm the death of the victim.

As explained to the corporal of the local fire brigade, Francisco Montes, the two officers who were on duty last morning went immediately to the scene of the event, at the same time that three firefighters who were on rest were activated. and upon arriving at the house “we found a fully developed fire”, with many problems to access the interior of the house as the door was blocked.

As soon as they entered the property, “they found a person, they took him out and the medical services tried to revive him, but nothing could be done for him,” in addition to indicating that “there was a lot of garbage and waste in the house.”

In the house “there was a lot of material, with which the thermal load was very high” and in some “even the doors could not be opened.”

On the origin of the fire, he has indicated that it is unknown at the moment, but it is believed that the inhabitant of the house died of smoke inhalation, pending what the autopsy dictates.

The firefighters finished their work around 4:30 in the morning, after verifying that the flames had been completely put out and that there were no neighboring houses affected or in danger of new outbreaks.
