Adrián Martín studied computer engineering and as a final degree project he created and patented an intelligent toaster that does not burn the toast. “I made a promise to my mother, with whom I had breakfast before going to university and to whom it was rare the day that her gluten-free toast did not burn, which takes longer to toast,” Martín recalls.
Before launching his discovery on the market, the young inventor set out to discover the market first. “I had some jobs, I wanted to learn before setting up my own business project,” says the entrepreneur. With the covid pandemic, Martín and his brother José Alfredo began to shape the project and proposed to José de Isasa, with whom Adrián Martín had worked, to join his business adventure.
In September 2020, the Bronze startup was born after the three entrepreneurs went through a business incubation program at IQS. “It was there that we got to know the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Catalonia, which convinced us so much that we came from Madrid to found the company in Barcelona”, explains Adrián Martín. Their time at the incubator also led them to pivot their business idea to open up to other household appliances, beyond toasters. However, Bronze’s smart appliances are taking time to wait.
Fate wanted the startup to go on the market with a system for monitoring orders. “We started working with the Vicio hamburger chain to develop a griddle with which all hamburgers would come out equally perfect, but we saw that the main problem in this type of establishment is errors in orders,” recalls Martín.
At the end of 2022, the entrepreneurs launched Bronze Tracker, a solution that uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to monitor home orders, warning of possible errors in their preparation, mitigating fraud, providing photographic evidence and automating the claim process. with home delivery platforms.
Bronze Tracker works in 26 kitchens of various clients (Vicio, Cuyna, Bungr…). At the same time, the brothers Martín and José de Isasa continue working on the development of the Bronze Grill Assistant, a solution that incorporates computer vision to achieve homogeneous and error-free grill cooking. They have a grant from the CDTI and the support of the Netmentora network of entrepreneurs and businessmen, among other entities. On the other hand, to date the entrepreneurs have raised 450,000 euros in public funding. Of course: for the moment, Martín’s promise to his mother that his toast would not burn any more is taking time to wait.
