The Brazilian municipality of Mangaratiba announced on Monday that it has fined soccer player Neymar for some works he has done at his beach house in that city in the state of Rio de Janeiro and which were suspended by the environmental authorities.

The fine was set at 16 million reais (3.3 million dollars or three million euros) and refers to the construction of an artificial lake in the extensive gardens of the residence, in which the player of the Brazilian team and French PSG is resting these days.

Two weeks ago, the residence was visited by the environmental authorities, who discovered various irregularities, seized the works and prohibited the use of the lake, a decision that Neymar later failed to comply with, according to videos posted online with images of a party he offered a few days later. .

Among the irregularities detected are the diversion of the course of some streams, the unauthorized collection of water from a river, prohibited excavations, irregular movement of rocks and earth, and the use of sand from the beach near the house.

The works were being carried out in the Aero Rural condominium, neighboring Portobello, where the player has another luxurious mansion of about 5,000 square meters.
