Pedro Sánchez sat down this Tuesday in front of Ana Rosa Quintana to carry out a long-awaited interview that is difficult to forget. The current President of the Government has reviewed his legislature and has spoken with the presenter about the upcoming elections on July 23. Of course, the tension has not disappeared in the more than an hour of talk.
The economy, unemployment, inequalities, gender violence, the Falcon or foreign policy, are some of the topics that have been touched on throughout the interview. Although she seemed to have everything planned, Sánchez has received a question that she did not expect and that has left her totally speechless.
“Where are you going on vacation?” Ana Rosa Quintana asked the socialist leader in the final stretch of the interview. A question that, initially, has left Sánchez silent, but that she has managed to redirect. With a nervous laugh, Pedro Sánchez replied: “I have not thought about it, Ana Rosa.” It seems that the President of the Government expected any question except this one.
“Notice that I was thinking about the questions that I could ask myself and I had not thought about this one,” he continued. Of course, she has known how to develop throughout the conversation. “I don’t know. I’ll have to talk to my daughters who are older and there are things that they like more than others,” he concluded before the presenter made her reply.
“On vacation you will be acting president,” added Quintana, referring to the impossibility of forming a government until after the vacation period. “On vacation I will be working on the investiture,” the PSOE leader replied, without thinking twice.
But if something has become clear, it is that Pedro Sánchez had a lot of artillery saved for Ana Rosa Quintana. The President of the Government has prepared his interview well and has not hesitated when facing all that he considers to be nonsense towards him.
“It has been said outrageously that I am a filoetarra”, “it has been said that I am obsessed with Falcon, a coup plotter” or “Sanchismo is a bubble that has been inflating with manipulation, evil and lies”. These are some of the things that the socialist wanted to highlight, hinting that some of his reproaches were directed at the presenter.
“If I told you what they said about me: racist, xenophobic, fascist…”, Quintana responded to Pedro Sánchez’s reproaches. “True, but you have a set to defend yourself”, the President of the Government has counterattacked.
And this has been the dominant tone throughout the interview, which already at the beginning began with a taunt from the presenter directed at the socialist. “Four years have passed, you have more gray hair and I am blonde,” the journalist commented, referring to Sánchez’s older physical appearance years after her last interview.
