On June 23, Sálvame said goodbye to the Telecinco screens forever with a very special program. The La Fabrica de la Tele format said goodbye to all its viewers after more than fourteen years leading the evenings of the Fuencarral network.
The decision was made from the new leadership of the audiovisual group, which is in the process of restructuring its entire television schedule to give the chain a facelift. But although the news fell like a jug of cold water for all the collaborators of the space and for its followers, Sálvame has managed to have a second chance away from conventional television.
In the final minutes of the last program, the entire space team confirmed what was an open secret: they had signed up for Netflix. Eight of Sálvame’s most mythical collaborators will embark on a new adventure at the hands of the American giant to create a new format that will take them around America, with the sole objective of achieving new professional challenges.
But the collaborators will not be alone in this new stage, David Valldeperas, who directed Sálvame for several years, will once again be behind the cameras to accompany his colleagues on this new journey. For this reason, the director recently gave an interview to the RAC1 program El Món, where he gave his most sincere opinion about the Sálvame collaborators and also wanted to talk about this new project.
The presenter of El Món, Jordi Basté, asked Valldeperas about his former co-workers and he wanted to define each of them with a few words. Víctor Sandoval has been defined as “explosion”. Chelo García-Cortés is ”the most endearing and necessary mute in history, her silences are wonderful, you prick her a little and she jumps”. The presenter María Patiño is a “showwoman”, Lydia Lozano is “a very necessary person for her universe” and Kiko Matamoros would be “the forte of the class”.
One of the most commented absences at the end of the format was that of Paz Padilla. The director revealed that since the presenter left the set in full direct, he has not had a relationship with her again. “She closed a stage and did not know how to close it and saw that opportunity,” he confessed.
Carlota Corredera was another of the great absentees, but Valldeperas confirmed that they had something in mind, but in the absence of Jorge Javier Vázquez, they preferred not to do so and continue with the usual presenters.
Jordi Basté also took the opportunity to ask him about the state of Jorge Javier Vázquez and the former director of Sálvame was very sincere about it: “He is making his journey, yes, we would say that he is making his journey. It’s fine, you can talk to him and he will give you explanations of things, but I think he needs his process. A lot has happened in the last few months.”
