The duo formed by Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant was one of the most iconic in memory in the history of the Los Angeles Lakers. The man from Sant Boi and the North American helped the Californian franchise win the NBA title in 2009 and 2010, and they became close friends and fierce rivals on the international scene. The loss of number 24 was a hard blow for the Catalan, but his partner is always in the memory, even in the most intimate moments.
This was the case last Sunday, when Gasol and his wife Cat McDonell baptized their two children, Elisabet Gianna and Maxwell Vincent, at the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The ceremony was an intimate and simple act for the couple on a date designated as the month of July. It was in this period of the year 2019 that they decided to get married twice, in San Francisco and in Spain. This time they returned for another special moment, and they did so in great company.
Vanessa Bryant and her daughters, Natalia Diamante, Bianka Bella, and Capri Kobe; they accompanied Pau and Cat on the day appointed for their offspring. The former FC Barcelona player has always maintained very close contact with the family of his teammate in the Lakers, especially after his death in 2020. Since then, he and his wife have always kept an eye on Vanessa and company, as well to share numerous plans.
They were not the only exceptional guests at the ceremony. After Elisabet Gianna and Maxwell Vincent received the baptismal waters, there was a photo booth where the family and guests were able to take several pictures with the little ones. The appearance of another former Barça player, “La Bomba” Juan Carlos Navarro, in the company of his two daughters, Lucía and Elsa, stands out in these images.
The ceremony was simple but with details that were noted even in the invitations. Gasol and McDonell sent white cards with gold lettering and written in English for the best possible memory of the event. For the subsequent celebration, the family moved with the guests to a place on the outskirts of Barcelona, ??with great views of the Ciudad Condal. And it was not the only thing that stood out from this location.
During sunset, the parents of the baptized organized an outdoor dinner around a large table, adorned with impressive flower arrangements in the center and several candles. It was during this instance that the photo booth was also held, casual thanks to the use of decorations and accessories such as ice cream emoticons, cocktails, donuts, hearts, glitter hats, a Viking hat and other accessories.
