I have photographed for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia these details of nature in summer, specifically, of the campanula, in Cercs (Berguedà).
I was looking for minimalism with the selective focus of this beautiful plant on the banks of the Llobregat river. This beautiful flower receives the Latin name of campanula, which means “little bell”.
As can be seen in this series of photographs, the truth is that the smallest detail of nature can offer us great beauty.
Actually, campanula is a genus of plants that includes no more and no less than 1,566 described species, although only 425 of these are officially accepted.
The flowers are bell-shaped with five large, lobed corollas, 2-5 cm or more long. They are blue to purple in color, but sometimes also white or pink.
These flowers are highly appreciated at an ornamental level, to the point that they have won renowned awards. The species Campanula rotundifolia stands out, which is cultivated for its beautiful blue flowers.
