The Saharan environment has once again taken over the Sau reservoir, in Osona, whose water level has again dropped a bit in the last week.
In this series of images in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can see the fisherman trying to fish in the waters of the reservoir under a Saharan sun and sky.
All this after having seen how the sun rose very close to the Agullola de Rupit, an abyss of the Collsacabra separated from the rest and with a height of 921.9 meters. It is visible from many parts.
This orange sky characteristic of the hottest days. The haze is a meteorological phenomenon that occurs in the presence of Saharan dust in the atmosphere.
The Sau reservoir, in the municipality of Vilanova de Sau, is located at the foot of the Guilleries massif and belongs to the Ter river basin. We can appreciate how the cliffs reflect the waters of the swamp, now that it has exceeded at least 30% of its capacity.
Sau is part of a system of three swamps (along with those of Susqueda and Pasteral) that unites the counties of Osona, in the province of Barcelona, ??and La Selva, in the province of Girona.
The reservoir, inaugurated in 1962, covered the town of Sant Romà de Sau, the remains of which, especially the bell tower of the temple, are visible when the dammed water level is low. Now, you can only see the church and a bit of the old cemetery. It so happens that Sau is recovering better now than Susqueda from the drought.
