The new president of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, begins her mandate with a declaration of intent: the Ministry of the Environment is abolished, whose powers will be distributed among other departments, and the Ministry of Fons Europeus is eliminated. In exchange, Prohens creates a Ministry of the Sea, which will be in charge of managing the coastal powers, in the hands of the community, as well as the nautical facilities.
The change in the social welfare department is also significant, which will be renamed Conselleria de Famílies y Afers Socials. They will be in charge of equality policies, which until now were in the hands of the Department of the Presidency. The Ministry of Tourism will also have the competences of culture and sports. Prohens has been able to form a PP government alone, without Vox members, despite the fact that she will be bound by the agreement signed with her partners, who will be left out of the Government.
