With this activity, the MásMedio Consortium of the Cáceres Provincial Council sets out to publicize the flora and fauna of the regions and their natural resources, especially those managed with the MásMedio consortium, such as water resources.
To present the activity and encourage people to enjoy it, this Friday the mayor of Hoyos, Óscar Antúnez; the manager of the MásMédio Consortium of the Diputación, Gustavo Pérez; the general director of Territorial Cohesion of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, Alipio García, and the acting general director of Digital Agenda of the Junta de Extremadura, Pablo García, as well as representatives of the Turicleta company that carries out the project.
It has already been announced that the activity will not end on September 30 since the next territory is already prepared so that, from October 1 to December 31, this motorized bicycle initiative from Alcántara to the Tajo-Salor route.
In the presentation, the acting director general of Agenda Digital, Pablo García, defended “a tourism development model capable of integrating and taking advantage of the possibilities of technology both to promote new economic alternatives in rural areas, and to promote the activity physical and sports in a healthy environment such as the natural environment of Extremadura”.
For García “it is a way of promoting active and sustainable tourism supported, on the one hand, in the alternatives that only new technologies allow to carry out and, on the other, in the undoubted environmental and patrimonial attractions that they can enjoy visitors who opt for the tourist offer that starts from the region”.
He also recalled that “it is also a way of making profitable the investment effort that the different public administrations have made in the last decade to deploy new generation telecommunications infrastructures throughout the region.”
In this sense, he has indicated that “a project is presented in which the participants in the cycling routes follow an itinerary guided by an app and, therefore, that requires the availability of good connectivity services to carry it out “.
“This is a very important initiative for Extremadura due to its pioneering nature, for what it represents as one of the first concretions of the growth model supported by the possibilities of new technologies and which, without a doubt, will find new developments in the future. “, he pointed out.
