The long-awaited wedding of Tamara Falcó and Íñigo Onieva has been the subject of controversy due to the notable absence of her brother, Enrique Iglesias. For weeks, there was speculation about the presence of the famous singer at the event, but now Falcó has clarified the reasons behind this decision in an exclusive with ‘¡Hola!’ magazine.
Initially, it was suggested that Enrique’s busy professional schedule might be the main obstacle. Then rumors arose about a possible recent illness, but it was finally revealed that the singer suffers from a phobia of social gatherings, which would have been decisive in his choice. Days before the wedding, his brother Julio José Iglesias left open the possibility that he would attend, however, doubts were dispelled when neither Enrique nor his family showed up at ‘El Rincón’.
Tamara Falcó has shared her version of events. In her conversation with ‘Hello!’ After her marriage, the Marquise de Griñón revealed that she spoke with her brother about her absence. Enrique confessed to her that he doesn’t enjoy these types of social events and she suggested that he only attend the religious ceremony and then leave if he so desired: “I told him that it was not something social and that he should come to the mass and, if he wanted, that he should leave after…”, she has revealed.
Although Falcó considers this day as something more than a simple celebration, a true sacrament, he recognizes that everyone has their own “wounds”. Despite not fully understanding his brother’s motives, he respects his decision. In a gesture of understanding, he mentioned that Enrique, despite being able to get on stage and perform in front of 50,000 people, is actually a very shy person. In addition, his sister Ana informed him that he had a concert in Los Angeles.
“I didn’t understand his motives, but I respect him. Although he can get on stage and sing in front of 50,000 people, Enrique is very shy… Also, my sister Ana told me that she had a concert in Los Angeles.”
The absence of Enrique Iglesias at Tamara Falcó’s wedding has generated some tension in the family, but the bride has made it clear that she respects her brother’s choice and focuses on enjoying her new chapter as a married woman with Íñigo Onieva.
