This noon of this Tuesday of a heat wave in Spain I was able to make a fried egg on the flagstones of a hut in Viña de Artés, in the Bages region. I did not need to heat the pan on the fire or put oil on it.
And the result has been this that we can see in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia. In other words, 100% renewable energy, with the heat of the sun, although, yes, very hot…
At the time of making this fried egg in the open air, the thermometer marked 36 degrees, on a day in which it exceeds 40 degrees.
Virtually the entire Iberian Peninsula, except for the north and northwest, is experiencing the peak of the first major heat wave of the summer this Tuesday, in which maximum temperatures will exceed 44ºC.
During these days there will also be torrid nights, that is, they will not drop below 25ºC, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
As can be seen in the images, not only has the fried egg been made, but the yolk has been kept liquid, as it should be.
Normally, to fry an egg, it is introduced into oil or hot animal fat, but, in this case, it was not even necessary.
Just now a year ago I carried out this same experiment of making a fried egg without fire or oil near the town of Ossó de Sió, near Agramunt, in the Urgell region. On that occasion, the thermometer marked 41 degrees.
