The forward Joel Parra declared this Friday, after signing the contract that will link him to Barça until June 30, 2027, that joining the Barça entity was “the next step” that he had to take in his sports career.

“It’s a very important change. It’s the next step I had to take in my sports career. I’m very happy to be here at a club like Barça,” the Spanish international told the Catalan club’s media.

Faced with his first experience outside of Joventut Badalona, ??the club in which he was trained from the lower categories and from which he disassociated himself last Friday after paying the termination clause of one million euros, Parra assured that he was “very eager” to meet to his new teammates, “to work with the team and to return to the Palau” the confidence that Barça has given him “achieving great things”.

Asked why he can contribute to the Barça team, the forward highlighted in the first place the “character” that he has already shown “in recent years”, before listing other aspects such as “defense” or “rebounding”.

“I can push from behind, run and score if necessary. I think all of this is very important, it’s what defines me as a player and it has to be like that to do great things at Barça. I’m here looking forward to seeing the Palau full and enjoy with them”, he concluded.
