The Institutional Vice-Secretary of the PP and Alberto Nuñez Feijóo’s right-hand man, Esteban González Pons, has charged against Sanchismo, which he has accused of blowing up all the bridges and consensus between the government and the opposition. “The political center disappeared from the map with sanchismo; the ‘no is no’ meant building a wall and pointing out the other as an enemy,” lamented the popular leader.
The head of the poster of the PP for Valencia has participated this morning in the informative breakfast organized by Nueva Economía Fórum and has stressed that “there is no relationship between Sanchismo and the opposition.” He has exemplified this by pointing out that they have no information about the Spanish Presidency of the EU or the dispatch of troops and has reiterated that, in this context, State pacts are impossible.
It has done so as a result of a question about the need to reform the financing system that stifles the Valencian Community. González Pons has reiterated Feijóo’s commitment to change the model (accepting the historical debt), but has stressed that an agreement between the two big parties is necessary for this.
Along these lines, he has emphasized the need for the Socialists to let the force with the most votes rule so that the decisions that affect all Spaniards do not ultimately depend on minorities. Given Pedro Sánchez’s refusal to sign Feijóo’s proposal in the last debate, he has come to ask socialist voters that if they do not want the PP to govern with Vox, they should trust their candidate.
In a Valencian key, Esteban González Pons has indicated that together with the mayoress of Valencia, María José Català, and the future president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, he will set up a “Valencian conspiracy in Madrid” to defend the interests of the Valencian Community. “We will be the great conspirators in favor of the Valencian Community”, he added. Thus, he has tried to win over the electorate by pointing out that it is more beneficial to vote for one of the members of that “triple within the majority” than for an “opposition deputy.”
Regarding his particular position on the expansion of the Port of Valencia, which has not always matched the positions of the PPCV, he has indicated that in “any vote” he will vote for what María José Catalá and Carlos Mazón tell him.
Throughout the conference, González Pons has shown his mastery of world geopolitics (with data and a long exposition of the current and future moment) and has dressed as Foreign Minister, although when asked about it he has limited himself to to point out that he sees himself helping where Feijóo considers.
