On Sunday, 276 offices will open, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., located in provincial capitals and autonomous communities, and tourist areas of Andalusia, the Valencian Community, Murcia or the Balearic Islands, in addition to those of Madrid capital and Barcelona capital.
Likewise, in all towns that celebrate local holidays until July 20, the offices will remain open during their normal hours, to expedite the management of voting by mail as much as possible.
As of Thursday, July 13, all offices that normally close after 8:00 p.m. will remain open until 10:00 p.m. All the information on opening hours can be consulted in the office locator of the app and on the Correos website www.correos.es.
All these extraordinary openings will be made exclusively to meet the needs of citizens related to the electoral process (delivery of electoral documentation and admission of voting by mail).
The network of 2,389 offices has one-stop windows for managing postal votes and has been equipped with 533 PDAs to expedite customer service directly in the lobbies
The prior appointment system is also being strengthened in 503 offices throughout the country and, where necessary, an exclusive option will be activated in the shift manager for “Vote by mail”.
In the same way, the distribution of electoral mailings has also been reinforced. Specifically, on Saturday, July 15, an extraordinary distribution will be carried out in 896 Distribution Units throughout Spain, in which about 5,700 postmen and Post Office bags will work delivering electoral documentation.
Likewise, on Sunday, July 16, another extraordinary distribution will be carried out in 165 distribution units in the areas where the greatest number of electoral mailings are being received, in which nearly 900 Postal professionals will participate.
In addition, in some towns that celebrate a local holiday next Monday, July 17, electoral mailings will also be distributed, even if it is a non-working day in the respective municipality.
On the other hand, the distribution network has been reinforced with 315 additional PDAs for the delivery of electoral documentation. The transport routes for the remittance of the documentation from the logistics center to all the distribution units will also be adapted, depending on the needs.
Similarly, the service will be reinforced in all logistics centers, including the one located at the “Adolfo Suárez” Madrid-Barajas airport, for the management of international shipments.
Since the General Elections on July 23, Correos has been adopting all the necessary organizational measures to guarantee compliance with the obligations entrusted to it during the electoral processes. It has formalized 20,240 reinforcement contracts since May 30 and is putting all its technological, logistical and human resources at the service of the process.
Correos has recommended that citizens who wish to vote by mail take steps as soon as possible, taking advantage of post office hours, and that they try not to leave it until the last minute to avoid waiting and unwanted accumulations.
