Oxygen is a chemical element represented by the symbol O. Under normal conditions of pressure and temperature, two oxygen atoms bond to form dioxygen, a colorless, odorless, and tasteless diatomic gas with the formula O2. This substance constitutes an important part of the atmosphere and is necessary to support terrestrial life. In other words, oxygen is vital.

For its part, voxygen is a political element represented by the symbol 0. There are those who consider it a 0 on the right (very valuable) and those who see it as a 0 on the left (very insignificant). Under normal conditions, voxygen is extremely colourless, odorless and tasteless, almost imperceptible, invisible. But, if the appropriate incentives are given in Spanish society, this political substance can take over the atmosphere and even become essential for governance, in fusion (“coalition”, according to the political nomenclature) with another element, represented by the PP symbol. The formula resulting from adding the PP with the voxygen is PP2Vox.

For some, it can create an unbreathable environment; for others, it’s like an adrenaline rush. And, in the middle of a heat wave like the one we are experiencing in Spain, calling a general election on July 23, also annoying the holidays for many Spaniards, is like creating a voxygen superconductor, giving rise to the most appropriate conditions for take over the atmosphere.

The reality, the voxygen arises when the oxygen is no longer pure, when it already shows symptoms of being contaminated. Under these conditions, it is easy for it to spread. Sky-high interest rates, exorbitant food prices, rise of political Trumpism, culture of social subsidization, hoaxes and fake news, interested exploitation of fears, nightmares and ghosts (ETA), ideological confrontations of grotesque gender, search for enemies interiors and exteriors (immigrants -Moors!-, Catalan separatists…) are some of the elements that make the voxygen grow, increasingly present in the environment in these days of extreme high temperatures.

This element can be extremely explosive if it comes into contact with the haze, that dust of Saharan origin that, if it collides with the voxygen, could cause even more tense episodes than those on the Perejil island in July 2002, when King Mohamed VI spoke of “Aznar’s betrayal”.

The main characteristic of voxygen is that it does not arise by itself, by spontaneous combustion, but even those who suffer from it and criticize it contribute to its growth. Because if voxygen exists, it is because the right conditions have been created for it to spread and, if it is becoming increasingly present, it is because there are more and more people who need it to have some answer to the meaning of their lives. And here lies one of the most dangerous elements of voxygen, since once you breathe it in, assimilate it and incorporate it into your being, it no longer leaves you.

The first time that large doses of voxygen were detected was in the 1930s in Germany, Italy and Japan, mainly, as well as in Spain. In all these cases, the environment that it generated ended up leading to wars. More recently voxygen has been reported in some US states and in countries such as Brazil. In Eastern Europe, the increasing presence of this element has also been reported, especially in Russia and on its border with Ukraine. Voxygen is a creation of the human being.

Also, it is not suitable for asthmatics. And it is very, very, basic: it only understands whites and blacks, there are no rainbows, like the one with the gay flag, but it is a “you are with me” or “you are against me”. Therefore, it is easy for the masses to assimilate. This is how it originates, how it spreads and how it is able to destroy oxygen. In this way, life does not become extinct, but rather transforms, adapts, although instead of evolving, it involutes. But that doesn’t matter. As Greenpeace has put it: “Do you sweat it?”

If we look at the etymological origin of the word “oxygen” we will see that it comes from the Greek roots oxys, which means “acid” and, specifically, “sharp”, referring to the taste of acids, and -gonos, which it means “producer”, “begetter”. Therefore, oxygen is an “acid producer”, but the result of a mistake. And it is that this name was given to this element because, at the time it was given this name, it was believed, incorrectly, that all acids required oxygen for their composition.

But, if oxygen is an “acid producer”, what does voxygen engender?… Normally, I hate. The father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, defines it as an ego state that wishes to destroy the source of its unhappiness. Therefore, the more unhappy the Spaniards are (or feel), the more voxygen they will breathe.

The current crisis not only affects pockets, but also values ??and morals. Nowadays, if you want to have power in Spain, you must become a judge or a notary. And if you want to have a well-paid job without having to study or prove your worth, the biggest bargain is to dedicate yourself to politics. Voxygen does not originate in a laboratory, nor naturally, but is a political element manufactured by politicians: those who adore it and those who hate it, because that is how it feeds back.

The discredit of democracies begins with their politicians. Spain has enough examples in its history, dotted with dictatorships and even civil wars, for the ruling class to be unaware of it. The last exercise to boost the voxygen has been the face to face starring the two aspirants to preside over the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez (PSOE) and Alberto Núñez Feijóo (PP). Analysts have spoken of “gross”, of staging “don’t yell at me because I don’t see you”, of “mess”… Surely, it would have been better to sit each one in front of a mirror and have them debate face to face with each other themselves. Perhaps then they would have realized to what extent they both contribute to making Spain breathe more and more voxygen? Trumpism advances, from the right and from the left, voxigenating everything and everyone.
