Carlos Mazón has taken office this Monday as ‘president’ of the Generalitat promising “extreme loyalty” to the Valencian Community and “absolute dedication” to his position that he assumes “with humility”. “The best in the history of the Valencian Community is yet to come”, he stated before the plenary session of the Corts Valencianes.
In his brief speech, he stated that “today I can be sworn in as President of the Generalitat because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord. Because we are committed to certainty over the darkness of uncertainty “.
During his speech, he defended that “the men and women who inhabit the Valencian Community deserve no less than the opportunity and responsibility to choose their future”. “And my commitment is with them”, she stressed, and insisted that “the Valencian Community deserved a change” that begins today.
Mazón has conveyed a message of “ambition to overcome conformism, heads looking to the ground, or elusive, distrustful or friendly looks of defeat.” “Ambition for our self-government, for the utmost respect for our legislative, executive and statutory institutions. But ambition for the quality of life, freedom, public services and opportunities both for the future and for everyday life, for more than 5 million citizens of Alicante, Valencia and Castellón.
The protocol act was attended by guests such as the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso; the leader of the PP of Aragon, Jorge Azcón; the general secretary of the Popular Party, Cuca Gamarra, or the president of the Assembly of Extremadura, the socialist Blanca Martín.
