In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can see the sunspots on the sun at dawn, with a lot of Saharan dust, from Gavà beach, in Baix Llobregat.

In one of the images we see how powerful haze stains the sky on the coast of the Barcelona area and, in the other snapshot, we appreciate the detail of the plane as if it were passing through the spots of the sun.

The haze is a meteorological phenomenon that occurs in the presence of Saharan dust in the atmosphere, which has already manifested itself several times this year and, now, in the midst of a heat wave.

A sunspot is a region of the sun that has a lower temperature than its surroundings and with intense magnetic activity. It consists of a dark central region, called the “umbra,” surrounded by a lighter “penumbra.”

A single spot can measure up to 12,000 km (almost as large as the diameter of the Earth), but a group of spots can reach 120,000 km in size or more.
