The powerful sun has risen with its spots, today, in Sentfores, in the Osona region, and it has been portrayed in this way for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.

Sentfores belongs to the municipality of Vic since 1932. The castle has been documented since 911, but today it has already disappeared.

On the other hand, there is news of the church of Sant Martí de Sentfores since the year 930 and that of Sant Joan del Galí, since the beginning of the XI century.

A sunspot is a region of the sun that has a lower temperature than its surroundings and with intense magnetic activity. It consists of a dark central region, called the “umbra,” surrounded by a lighter “penumbra.”

A single spot can measure up to 12,000 km (almost as large as the diameter of the Earth), but a group of spots can reach 120,000 km in size or more.

In the first image you can see the sun with its spots, rising through the abysses of Tavertet.

In the second, the sun between the horizon and the bell tower of the church of Sentfores.

In the third photo, you can see the dove crowned by the sun.
