Zara unleashed the madness last Friday with the announcement of its Barbie-inspired collection. It was only a matter of time before the Inditex flagship joined Barbiecore, and it did so this Monday, July 17, with a line dedicated to the long-awaited film that will hit theaters this coming Friday.

First thing in the morning there were already pieces that had posted the sold-out sign, yet another example of the furor unleashed by the film directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. The collection includes several of the outfits worn by the Australian actress as Barbie, such as a pink gingham dress or a total cowboy look.

A line that has basic t-shirts, in white and pink, with the iconic Barbie logo, with dresses, jumpsuits and bomber jackets ideal for becoming a real Barbie, as well as denim pieces to imitate Ken and also bring this trend closer to the boys who shop at Zara.

In addition, the collection has several accessories that are part of the doll’s characteristic style, such as shell necklaces, a necklace with the name of Barbie in the purest Carrie Bradshaw style, earrings, shoes or a belt with marine elements that has been become an object of desire.

Nor is there a wicker basket with the B highlighted in pink, scarves, fragrances and even hair clips and stickers to light up the look. Zara has also surprised with various stationery products, candles and even cutlery and cups to bring Barbie fashion anywhere.

A line that also attracts attention due to the Galician commitment to include models of different sizes and races. One of the great protagonists of the editorial is Ceval Omar, a top born in Somalia who has worked for renowned firms such as Charlotte Tilbury, Victoria’s Secret, Mugler or Dolce

Finally, to add to the Barbie craze, the Zara stores in Paris and New York have been transformed into an immersive experience with the installation of the Barbie Dream House.
