More international exposure for Barcelona in the sector of major fairs, congresses and conventions. On January 30 and February 1, 2024, the Catalan capital will host the first AV Latin American Summit, a summit of industry specialists that will turn this city into the audiovisual capital of Latin America.
Mike Blackman, general director of the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) exhibition, the most important audiovisual and integration systems exhibition in the world, has announced this new Barcelona appointment in Brussels, where he has been invited to the Unió summit Europe-Latin America, within the schedule of the Spanish presidency of the EU.
“The reason for this invitation – said Blackman – is the decision we have taken at the ISE to bet strongly on Barcelona being, during the days of the fair, the audiovisual capital, also, of Latin America”. This bet, points out the head of the audiovisual fair, has the full support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Blackman explained that the Barcelona City Council, first thanks to the mayoress Ada Colau and now to its new mayor, Jaume Collboni, has invited the presidents and ministers of the main Latin American countries to participate in this meeting. The event also has the support of the Generalitat through Action, which “is already working to make it a success with its network of offices on this continent”.
At the Barcelona summit, governments and companies will have the opportunity to share challenges, best practices, study investments and work together on key aspects for the sector such as artificial intelligence, the green transition or productivity and talent.
In Barcelona, ??says the general director of the ISE, ministerial and business delegations will meet so that the city “returns to being a bridge between Europe and Latin America, resuming its key role as a global capital and in this case as a point of reference for all of Latin America “. “A clear case – adds Mike Blackman – where with the same language and similar culture, welcoming Barcelona and Catalonia bring out the best of themselves to promote exchanges and business, and become the context of the most important fair of the sector in the global space of business and global relations”.
At the last edition of the ISE, held with great success between May 10 and 13 at the Fira de Barcelona site in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, nearly 10% of the exhibitors came from Latin America. Brazil was then the country with the most presence, followed closely by Mexico and then by Colombia, Argentina, Peru and Chile.
At the next edition of the ISE, the promoter of the event announces, “new markers for stadiums, screens for large shows, public address and signaling systems, audio for the home, party halls or commercial complexes, screens and systems of sound for large clothing chains, systems for urban mapping… they will be protagonists, once again, in Barcelona”.
To the already consolidated attractions will be added the fact that governments, institutions and companies will have a new platform for exchange, good practices and business, in the essence of the AV Latin American Summit.
For the ISE, this new celebration reinforces the commitment to Barcelona by adding a new opportunity with which “we also ensure a lasting relationship, of affection, admiration and shared success”.
