The Local Government Board (JGL) of the City Council of Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelonès Nord) has approved the award of the execution of the works for the new police station of the Local Police of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, which will be located on Av. Generalitat (160-170), and which will have a historical investment of €11,718,726.58, VAT included.

The works for the new police station, which will have an execution time of 24 months, have been awarded to Constructora D’Aro, for the civil works, and to COMSA Instalaciones y Sistemas Industriales, SAU for the police complex facilities.

For the mayoress of the city, Núria Parlon, “the new police station represents a leap in quality in improving security in our city” adding that “modern means, a well-sized workforce and collaboration between security forces are the key to continue improving the results in Santa Coloma”. Parlon recalled that “security is another basic right of citizens, as is health, education or social care” stressing that “from the municipal government we will continue working for a safe Santa Coloma”.

The award of the works for the new police station represents the largest municipal investment in the history of the city and will place the Local Police of Santa Coloma de Gramenet as one of the best police forces in Catalonia.

The new building will have a total area of ??6,494 m2, double that of the current curator, it will be sustainable thanks to the photovoltaic panels located on the terrace of the building, which will produce energy and will be distributed over 7 floors that will respond to current needs and future of the agents of the Local Police.

With the construction of a new building, a response will be given to the needs of the police force, the working conditions of the agents will be optimized and the attention to the citizens of Santa Coloma de Gramenet will be improved.
