Mediaset is undergoing a complete restructuring of its entire television schedule. A few months ago we heard the news that one of the audiovisual group’s longest running programs had an end date. The new Mediaset management leadership had made the decision to end Sálvame, after more than fourteen years on the air.
This unexpected news took both the program team and all the followers of the format by surprise, who did not believe this decision. But although it was somewhat sudden, the La Fabrica de la Tele format team continued to delight the audience with its characteristic programs until June 23, the date on which Sálvame said goodbye forever.
But after this sudden end, the board of directors of the audiovisual group had already chosen the person who was going to replace Jorge Javier Vázquez at the head of the Telecinco afternoons, Ana Rosa Quintana. The channel’s morning presenter will begin this new journey with an after-dinner program starting in September.
For the moment, Telecinco has chosen Sandra Barneda and her Así es la vida to occupy that time slot during the summer, while the one that will be the true substitute for Jorge Javier Vázquez’s program is being prepared. As Infobae has been able to learn, this new format produced by Unicorn Content, and which will bear the name TardeAR, will occupy what was the set of Sálvame for more than fourteen years.
This past Friday saw the end of another of the spaces in the Sálvame universe, the Deluxe. During the last broadcast, the team showed how operators dismantled the remaining set. Now, the entire team of the new Quintana program is getting to work setting up what will be the new afternoon set.
This mythical studio 1 of the Fuencarral chain has not only witnessed the great moments that all the collaborators of Sálvame have given, it has also housed other of the most remembered spaces of the audiovisual group, such as A tu lado or Aquí hay tomate.
