Inés Arrimadas, former leader of Ciudadanos, and Guillermo Díaz, also a former deputy for the same party, have made their romantic relationship public. This announcement comes after the couple’s appearance at Holy Week in Malaga, where they did not hesitate to show mutual affection with a passionate kiss.
The confirmation of their romance has not only put an end to months of speculation after Arrimadas’ divorce announcement in November, but has also highlighted the close bond that has united them since their times in Congress, when they were great friends.
The story of Arrimadas and Díaz is a good example of how a deep friendship can turn into love. According to sources close to the couple who have spoken to La Otra Crónica, their relationship has strengthened over time. Apparently, both would have waited for Arrimadas to put an end to her marriage to Xavier Cima so they could get to know each other better.
While practically everything is known about Arrimadas, due to his status as Albert Rivera’s number two and later the highest representative of Ciudadanos, fewer details are known about Díaz. However, on her website you can see a small profile of her career and personal tastes.
Born in Melilla in 1978 and with a solid training in Law from the University of Malaga, Díaz has gone beyond the field of politics to get involved in areas as varied as cultural management, the legal profession – although he does not practice -, and a marked interest in communication, military history and scientific dissemination.
In addition, he is a great fan of cinema, Atlético de Madrid, heavy metal, magic and comics. This commitment to his passions is also reflected in his identification with geek culture, a term that Díaz assumes with pride. He has also written three books.
Currently, Arrimas’s new boyfriend works at the Malaga City Council in work related to culture. He also teaches public speaking classes in a master’s degree. Therefore, his work situation makes it impossible for the couple to live together, since Arrimadas resides in Jerez.
