The second installment of Blood Ties this Tuesday, broadcast on TVE and presented by Jordi González, was dedicated to one of the best-known artists in our country, Massiel. Viewers of the program were able to learn more about the life and career of the 1968 Eurovision winner: the day she fled to London to give birth or when she confronted some hooded men in her house.

However, one of the most outstanding moments of the night occurred when he launched a resounding dart at Podemos and more specifically at Irene Montero. And all, at the cost of feminism. Because, according to the singer, she is a feminist, but “from before”.

It all happened after reviewing the life of the interpreter of the famous La, La, La, which became a hymn after winning the crystal microphone in the Eurovision contest during the Franco dictatorship. The program put on the table the milestones that Massiel achieved in a very troubled time in our country: when she wanted to get divorced, being impossible in Spain, her statements in the media disfiguring the lack of equality…

A struggle that one of the collaborators, Marta Nebot, wanted to highlight: How do you live now having been a pioneer feminist? Because you did things that women couldn’t do at the time, you put the world behind you when women couldn’t even go out into the world, and many things have happened since then, how do you see it from here?

“Well, of course, I see that it has nothing to do with the feminism of Podemos. I am a feminist from before, from Carmen Sierra and from some writers like Lidia Falcón ”, Massiel began by saying.

“It is not that I have put the world on my montera, I have tried to live in freedom in a time when there was no freedom. And even so we fought to get it, and we got it, all of us,” said the singer.

And here, Massiel wanted to emphasize another important issue, the fight for the rights of the LGTBI collective, although throwing a monumental dart at the Podemos formation about standing up as standard bearers:

“This was not invented by Irene Montero. They already existed before. Another thing is opportunism and wanting to get votes taking what suits you by your side, when it was already invented, protected and assumed long ago.
