Electronic Arts has announced that the sports journalist Miguel Ángel Román and the content creator DjMaRiiO will be the voices of EA Sports FC, the new installment of the popular video game FIFA that this year changes its name. Both will be in charge of taking over from Manolo Lama and Paco González, the two commentators who have narrated the matches of this title for 25 years.

“We are pleased to welcome our two new EA Sports FC commentators, Miguel Ángel Román and DjMaRiiO, to the Club”, states a message from the American editor on social networks. “With their talent and passion, they will bring a new dimension to our broadcasts on FC24,” she continues.

Paco González and Manolo Lama had been the voices of the Spanish edition of this simulator since FIFA 98: Rumbo al Mundial, one of the most remembered editions in the series due to the many novelties it introduced.

The sports journalist Miguel Ángel Román is one of the game announcers on the DAZN channel, where he broadcasts LiLaga matches. On the other hand, Mario Alonso “DjMaRiiO” Gallardo is a popular streamer of the video game FIFA with almost 9 million followers on YouTube.

In fact, it is not the first time that a content creator narrates the matches of this video game. The streamer Ibai Llanos has been a commentator in some of the latest editions of the game, such as FIFA 20, in which he was in charge of narrating the street soccer matches within the “Volta” game mode.

The name change from FIFA to EA Sports FC was announced in May 2022 and, although the reasons have not been officially revealed, it seems that it is due to the disagreement between the video game publisher and the sports federation for financial reasons.

EA Sports FC 24 will go on sale on September 29 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC. Electronic Arts announced last week the release date of the game and the news that it will incorporate in this new edition.
