The former president of the Generalitat Ximo Puig has accepted the law of the Statute of former presidents and has appointed an adviser and a driver, according to a resolution of the Presidency by which these two people are appointed as temporary staff at the proposal of the predecessor of Carlos Mazón.

As this newspaper already explained, the Valencian ex-president will also be elected territorial senator next week at the proposal of the PSPV in the Corts Valencianes and will maintain his act of regional deputy.

The appointment of the advisor and the driver takes effect from July 16 -one day before the inauguration of the new president of the Consell, Carlos Mazón-, according to the resolution dated July 17 signed by the acting Undersecretary of the Presidency of the Generalitat and published this Thursday by the Official Newspaper of the Generalitat.

The law of the Statute of ex-presidents approved in 2022 establishes, among other measures, that the Council will make available to them the necessary means to maintain a support office, which will have two work positions with advisory functions and a driver’s position, covered at the proposal of the ex-president and organically dependent on the Presidency.

As advisor, the former president Puig will have Francisco Cerdá, who since August 2019 has carried out the functions of advisor to the Presidency during the second term of the socialist leader at the Palau de la Generalitat.
