A recurring problem in bathrooms is that they become a source of bad odors. Some clogged pipes, leaks and ventilation problems are usually the cause of some of them. As for the unpleasant smell of humidity, it can occur for different reasons, such as excess condensation, the accumulation of humidity or mold.
If this summer season your bathroom begins to smell musty, you should review the cause to remedy it. Sometimes, it is enough to wash the towels or carpets, which can be the cause of the stench. However, other times the smell of humidity floats in the environment and it is time to eradicate it using certain cleaning products.
There are three combinations of cleaning products that you can use to scrub the surfaces of the bathroom in general and, in particular, insisting especially where you see mold stains. One of them is to mix bleach with water in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on the tiles, sinks, toilet, and shower. Let it act for about 15 minutes and then rub insistently with a sponge, scouring pad or brush. Insist especially in the shower and in its joints, where humidity usually accumulates. Next, rinse the surfaces that you have cleaned with the bleach with water.
Another option is to repeat this same procedure, but using ammonia. Mix it with water and apply it on the aforementioned surfaces. Let the mixture act for a few minutes, rub insistently and finally rinse it off. Of course, ventilate the room well or wear a mask, as the ammonia gives off a very intense smell.
Finally, if the previous alternatives do not convince you, you can resort to the infallible mixture in terms of cleaning: baking soda and white vinegar. Mix them with soap to clean the bathroom and insistently clean all surfaces, especially insisting on the shower. Leave it on for half an hour and then rub briskly. To finish, rinse it with hot water and that’s it.
