When the last meeting of the elections closes tonight, the last great debate of these fifteen days will also close: who has lied the most in the campaign. It is sad that this is the balance of the great voter seduction ceremony, but there are the newspaper archives to confirm it. As for the ideas, the remains of the coalition government, they tried a prodigy: to convince society that there is a Spain, theirs, which represents progress, progress, coexistence, modernity and compendium of all ethical and physical benefits that can be given in a country, and there is another Spain in black and white, which wants to go back half a century, restrict rights and freedoms, and restore freedom isism and censorship. The speakers and spokespersons of the outgoing government have been extremely clear on this: so clear and forceful that, 48 hours after voting, we know perfectly the details of this advance-regression, but we are unaware of the constitutional and state model proposals of the new progressives. With due caution, let us take it as a sign of stability: if the constitutional model is not debated, or is only debated to talk about the price of Catalonia for the unity of the State, the State is in good health.

The same cannot be said of the health of the big parties in whose ranks the candidates for president are active. PP and PSOE arrive at the polls as the only favorites, but insufficient. Dreaming of an absolute majority is a utopia. Both will need the support of others to rule. And there the fortune factor intervenes: Vox has been touched by the hand of God and was the winner of the municipal elections and perhaps it will be so again the day after tomorrow in the general elections, because in both it is decisive to form a right-wing majority. Without Vox there are no governments of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, therefore he has a very high level of power.

Something similar can be said of Yolanda Díaz and Sumar. Endowed with a reasonable dose of demagogy, he has the discourse that most connects with Spain in need, offers a balance of pacts that lend him a dialogue vitola and will leave the polls with more power, because he arrives at them with a personal alliance with Pedro Sánchez that is much more digestible than Sánchez’s agreements with Iglesias.

All this paints a unique scenario: a behavior that corresponds to bipartisanship, with the PSOE and PP stars that dominate outer space, but with two solar systems that exactly coincide with the blocks. The elections the day after tomorrow, except for the healthy surprise of the useful vote, are going to suppose the consecration of bibloquism. And the horizon, subject to a contradiction: according to the dominant orthodoxy, the Vox block should not triumph, because it is the extreme right of the reverse gear. But even the socialist ministers announce that it can succeed, because it is “an unstoppable current in Europe” and they speak of Spain as a brake on this current. During the Franco regime, our country was referred to as a “spiritual reserve of the West”. The words change sides, but sometimes they have the same imperial sense.
