The AEMET warns of the weather for the weekend. Alisio with very strong gusts in the western Canary Islands. Locally strong showers and storms at dawn in the Pyrenees. Significantly high temperatures in the southern interior. Possible rissagas in the Balearic Islands.

Prediction for Saturday July 22

In much of the country, little cloudy skies will prevail without precipitation. However, in the Pyrenees showers and storms may continue during the early morning. In the north of Galicia and the Cantabrian area, with a predicted post-frontal humid flow of the northern component, cloudy intervals are expected, with a probability of weak and scattered precipitations, in the morning on the coasts, in the afternoon as indoor showers.

Intervals of low clouds in the south of the Valencian community, with some morning precipitation. Cloudiness of diurnal evolution in mountainous areas of the northern and eastern peninsular thirds, with a low probability of occasional showers, accompanied by an isolated storm in the eastern part. Intervals of medium and high clouds in the southeast and, without ruling out rissagas, in the Balearic Islands.

In the Canary Islands, low clouds in the north of the islands, without ruling out some light drizzle in the higher relief. Calimas are not ruled out in the southeast of the peninsula, Melilla and the Balearic Islands. The maximum temperatures will rise on the Atlantic slope, eastern Cantabrian and upper and middle Ebro, while there will be a decrease in the Mediterranean area and in the Canary Islands. The minimum temperatures will have few changes or decreases in most of the Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands. 34-36 degrees will still be exceeded in areas of the southern interior.

In the Canary Islands the trade winds will get worse, with strong intervals and very strong gusts.

In the Peninsula, the winds will be light in general, prevailing winds from the west on the Atlantic slope, north in Galicia, east in the Mediterranean area and west, decreasing in the Strait and, rolling to the east, in Alborán.

Prediction for Sunday July 23

In much of the country, stable and dry weather will prevail, with little cloudy skies or with intervals of medium and high clouds. There will be intervals of low morning clouds in areas of the Mediterranean area and the Strait. An Atlantic front may touch the northwest third of the peninsula and will leave probable rainfall in the northwest of Galicia, without ruling it out in the western Cantabrian area. Cloudiness of diurnal evolution will develop in the interior of the eastern third of the peninsula, without ruling out dry storms, which may occasionally be accompanied by weak rainfall. In the Canary Islands we expect little cloudy skies, with intervals of low clouds in the north of the islands.

The maximum temperatures will rise in most of the Peninsula, although a decrease may begin in the west and south of Galicia. Increases in minimum temperatures will predominate. In the Canary Islands, temperatures will drop, somewhat more sharply in the midlands.

In the Canary Islands they will blow trade winds, with strong intervals. Westerly winds will prevail on the Atlantic and Cantabrian slopes and in the upper and middle Ebro. In the Mediterranean area the winds will be from the east and southeast, with strong intervals in Ampurdán.
