In the general elections on July 23, one of the doubts that voters may have is whether they can vote with an expired DNI. The answer is yes. To be able to vote, it is necessary to present any type of identification, be it a passport, ID or even a driving license. These may no longer be in effect, however they must be in their original format. The regulations dictate that photocopies will not be accepted.

Citizens have to go to the corresponding polling station and polling station and identify themselves to the polling station members in order to vote. Among the options that voters have to know the place where they have to go to vote are the census card that was sent to homes and the Electoral Census Registration Consultation procedure, which can be found on the official website of the National Institute of Statistics.

Both the residence card (for citizens of other European Union countries) and the identity card (for foreigners whose countries do not have a reciprocity treaty with Spain for voting in general elections) are valid types of identification for this 23-J. Either of the two must have a photo that identifies the voter.

Election day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 8 p.m. If, at the time the polling stations close, there are still voters waiting to vote, they will be allowed to put their ballot in the ballot box. At that time the scrutiny will begin and the results will be known gradually as the counts of the tables are finished and they are communicated.
