I share in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can see these photographs taken in Cadaqués, in the Alt Empordà region, on a hot summer afternoon, when this cormorant decided to rest on a rock.

It is a very common summer image. Incredibly, on this occasion, the cormorant remained impassive for most of the afternoon and, when I passed in front of it, it was already dark, he was in the same position.

He became, without knowing it, the absolute protagonist, since I can assure you that everything that passed by stopped to take a snapshot. It seemed like he didn’t care.

Since I don’t know his habits, I even wondered if something was wrong with him or if he was simply resting. The truth is that this bird comes out of the water to spread its wings to dry itself, since, unlike most waterfowl, its wings are not completely waterproof.

The cormorant catches fish by propelling itself with its legs and diving for more than a minute in the water, reaching a depth of 10 meters.
