Laura Escanes has shared through her stories on Instagram a personal problem that she has been experiencing for years. With her usual candor and willingness to maintain open communication with her followers, Laura has decided to open a discussion about a possible correlation between birth control pills and canker sores, a condition that has been causing her much pain and discomfort.

“I had been taking birth control pills for years until I stopped them because I wanted to get pregnant. During that time that I was using them, I would get a lot of thrush in my mouth, getting up to 10 at a time, which was horrible,” Escanes confessed in his publication. In his experience, these flare-ups decreased markedly during periods when she stopped taking the pills, but the doctors never linked this side effect to the medication.

In his explanation, Escanes has expressed his frustration at not being able to find a medical consensus that supports his theory, because despite his insistence, health professionals have not linked his thrush to birth control pills. Even so, the influencer has continued to share her experience in the hope that other women can contribute their own stories and observations.

Laura has recently resumed her use of birth control pills, and unfortunately, her canker sores reappeared. “Now, a few months ago, when I started taking them again… Tachaaaan, the canker sores have returned to my life and I really can’t take it anymore,” the influencer shared, highlighting the pain that these ulcers cause her, to the point of making it difficult for her to speak, eat or drink water.

In view of the problems that they generate, and that he has not been able to get rid of this problem, he has decided to ask his followers a question: “Has this happened to you?” In this way, and although she does not replace the opinion of a doctor, the Catalan hopes to find other people who have experienced similar situations and to better understand her problem.
