The Civil Guard is investigating the causes of death of a 56-year-old woman whose body was found on Saturday with symptoms of violence inside a well on land she owned, in Reliegos, a town belonging to the Leonese municipality of Santas Martas.
According to EFE sources from the Government Sub-delegation, a friend of the victim reported her disappearance on Friday night, since she was surprised not to hear anything from her since early in the morning of that day, and a search operation was established that concluded early Saturday afternoon with the discovery of the body in a well located on a farm she owned where the victim was engaged in agriculture.
The Civil Guard has opened an investigation to clarify the facts and the court investigating the case has decreed summary secrecy.
However, sources of the investigation have specified that there is no history of gender violence nor does it seem to be the cause of the event.
