In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can enjoy in this series of photographs of five summer sunsets of sea and mountains captured recently in this month of July.
Magnificent sunset last night from the small town of Ullastrell, in the Vallès Occidental, looking towards Montserrat.
I captured from the Natural Park of Montgrí, Islas Medas and Baix Ter this sunset behind the castle of Montgrí, in the Baix Empordà.
Fascinating this sunset in L’Escala, in the Alt Empordà region. A fan of orange, pink colors. The sky offers us a very different spectacle every day. I suppose that some meteorologist will be able to give us a scientific explanation of this phenomenon.
The fact is that the candilazo is a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors that goes from pink to the most intense orange. As part of the scattering phenomenon of sunlight, when the sun is closer to the horizon, the light that reaches Earth is soft shades between red and orange.
I share this photograph taken in Cadaqués, in the Alt Empordà region, one summer evening. In it we can see as a backdrop the skyline of the beautiful and world-renowned town during the twilight hour, which is taking on orange colors due to the suspended dust that persists this week.
The sunsets during these episodes of calima are usually spectacular due to the tones that the sky acquires, although as we already know they are not very good for our health.
The seagull that rests on the wall seems to be also observing the last light of the day.
In this photograph we see the sun hiding behind the Canigó, between the olive trees of Peralada, in the Alt Empordà.
