I have photographed for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia this group of flamingos walking through one of the places in the Natural Park of Montgrí, Illes Medes and Baix Ter.

The flamingos migrate to the south in winter and many spend the winter season in Morocco, in important wetlands, such as the mouth of the Muluya, the Mar Chica or the Souss-Massa National Park.

In summer it is a good time to watch the flamingos in the Baix Ter area. In fact, the natural park has a nature itinerary in the company of an expert guide.

This park encompasses the Montgrí mountain massif, the Illes Medes archipelago, with its seabed of precious ecological value, and the wetlands formed by the River Ter as it flows into the Bay of Pals.

The Greater Flamingo is possibly the most spectacular of all the aquatic birds that inhabit the wetlands, since it stands out for its remarkable size and its peculiar appearance of a slim silhouette.
