A new mural in El Clot – on Bilbao street with Calle de la Verneda, next to Hort Urbà del Clot – pays homage to Francisco Ibáñez with his two most recognized characters, Mortadelo and Filemón, crying over the death of their creator, on July 15. The graffiti is the work of the urban artist Absure2000 (Miguel Ángel Pérez Manzaneque), who spread his work on Instagram, where he describes Ibáñez as “the best Spanish comic artist.”

The mural is also located near the home of the legendary comic book author, as well as the García Márquez library, which was preparing a tribute to him for next autumn.

Comic book partners like Jan, J.L. Martín, Forges, Azagra or René Merino have also been paying homage to Ibáñez on the networks since his death.
