Blanca Suárez, Nadja Nimri, Milena Smith, Juana Acosta, Belén Cuesta, Elena Rivera Susi Sánchez… They are all used to being under the spotlight, whether on film or television shoots, on red carpets, awards, photo sessions and mirrors. make-up. Because of their work, they change their appearance inside and out, ready to get into other skins and other lives. They try, experiment, recognize or mislead, play the card of daily life, maximum sophistication or risk and trends depending on what the role and circumstance require.

Putting on makeup like a star is easy… with the tricks of your top makeup artists. They are always there, ready for you to be ready, knowing your face to the millimeter, highlighting your strong points, narrowing down angles, knowing your tastes. They form a perfect tandem based on trust, on the art of brushes and creative freedom that always leads to the same point: enhancing their attractiveness without betraying their personality.

“Blanca is very easy to do her makeup because she has wonderful skin that shines on its own. She has a magical luminosity, ”says Natalia Belda, who signs almost all of her makeup. This means that she “doesn’t pull too much highlighter so as not to overdo it,” she says. Eyes or lips? Everything in her are strong points so, more than correcting, we play with makeup and bet on what we want to highlight that day. Blanca knows what she wants and how to carry it”, she assures.

“What I never forget is the eyebrows and eyelashes, to generate more depth in the look, something that is very flattering. I always mark my cheekbones with some Guerlain Terracotta. One of Blanca Suárez’s make-ups that have attracted the most attention this year focused all the attention on her eyes, with a winged-inspired total black eyeliner for which she only used the “black ebony” eyeliner, by Guerlain. .

“I started by drawing the outer outline. The starting point was to draw a straight and ascending corner to beyond the tail of the eyebrow. Next, I started from the tear duct and drew a curve on the outside of the mobile eyelid until I linked it with the tail of the corner. It was just a matter of filling in with the same pencil to get the most intense ‘total black’”, explains the makeup artist. “On the lips, so as not to take away from the look, we opted for a soft peach tone, very natural,” he concludes.

Najwa Nimri’s makeup enhances her magnetic and unconventional personality. “What we usually highlight about Najwa is her feline look and her slanted eyes,” says make-up artist Pablo Macías, one of the fixtures on red carpets. “We intensified it with a megalash, a luminous lid and a well-defined but blurred socket,” he adds. A trick: “To contrast that power of the eye, we sweetened it by lightening her natural eyebrow one or two shades and changing its shape from straight to round to highlight the mystery of her gaze,” he explains. To outline her lips, Pablo also has a good tip: “Outline the outer contour with the tone of foundation closest to Najwa’s skin so that it is more polished.”

The high and polished ponytail, one of the most popular and flattering resources before an appointment or event, has a lifting effect that everyone likes. Pablo’s advice to make it look impeccable is to first smooth the hair, finish the hairstyle with gel and give it a final touch with a spray that adds shine.

Milena dares with everything, both when choosing characters and when choosing a brave makeup that is different from everyone. There is no fear of attracting attention. “Milena’s strong point cannot be summed up in one trait or faction, because everything about her gives off a special magic: her look, her lips, the oval shape of her face…”, says the makeup artist Rebeca Trillo-Figueroa, who knows her well. “Makeup can highlight any area of ??her face but I’m going to focus on her lips, as she’s one of the few people who can wear anything from a simple moisturizing balm or a light nude shade to black lips (which are hard to flatter on anyone). many people) or a super intense red lipstick. In her, everyone turns out to be fantastic and believable, because she is a real chameleon, ”she says.

An inspiring idea: “To enhance her lips, lately we have made them up trying to give them a more rounded shape when outlining them. The trick is to slightly shorten the corners and outline the upper part of the lip (the arc of Venus) just above its natural shape”, shares Rebeca.

An easier dark alternative to black? Dark plum shades like the Prune Power Rouge pur Couture by YSL Beauté, 37.80 euros.

“In the case of Belén Cuesta, my goal is always to achieve luminous and revitalized skin, regardless of whether we enhance eyes, lips, or both,” explains makeup artist Iván Gómez, a regular at Spanish film festivals. “Brown skin like yours often hides sallow undertones that make your skin look dull. It is true that with any medium/high coverage foundation we will be able to neutralize them, but in most cases, using only one foundation you can lose the naturalness that is always one of my premises when it comes to applying makeup”, she affirms.

“The key to getting the fresh, luminous, natural look I’m after is spending time preparing your skin, selecting the right products, and most importantly, controlling how much and how you apply them,” she explains. His professional advice: “Use an ultra-light foundation, such as Chanel’s Eau de Teint, with sufficient coverage to even out the tone but at the same time allow the skin to breathe. Next, we will cover those areas that require it with a makeup with greater coverage or a concealer. This is how we free areas of skin that don’t need it from unnecessary pigment”.

“Enhancing highlights with fluid or cream highlighters also plays an important role in the final result. Enhance the T zone (forehead, nose and chin) with a slightly lighter foundation and/or a few touches of illuminator in the high area of ??the cheekbone, high point of the eyebrow, even in the tear duct to refresh the look, are some of the essential steps for our objective”, advises Iván.

“As a finishing touch, I like to apply a hit of revitalizing mist to keep the hydrolipidic layer supple and hydrated, which will make the makeup look and feel integrated into the skin,” concludes the makeup artist.

“I respect her skin tone very much and I try to convey how she is in her makeup: discreet and simple,” says makeup artist Carmen de Juan, who knows Susi Sánchez’s face well. “Her strong point of hers is the look. I intensify it by mixing two Chanel eye pencils, one in chocolate and the other in a copper shade, and apply them to the entire edge of the upper and lower lashes. With this I seek to correct and illuminate with a more natural effect ”, she comments.

She doesn’t forget her brows, which she works on, shapes and sets to give her eyes even more expression. A trick: Give a point of light under the eyebrows. “On the mobile eyelid, I shade with shades similar to eye pencils from the tear duct upwards and the end of the eyelashes to lengthen,” she continues. “We apply the darker tones on the outside and the lighter ones with iridescent touches on the tear duct,” she says. Her advice: “Use a brown mascara so as not to harden the features.”

“For Susi’s mature skin, I use the Concentré Contours from Chanel’s Le Lift Pro line, with which I massage the face with upward circular movements, and then I apply Sublimage Lumière, a treatment that provides extra light and is perfect for concealing expression wrinkles”, concludes the make-up artist.

“What I usually highlight about Elena Rivera is her eyes, since she has a very expressive look and I think they are her strong point,” says makeup artist Noemi Nohales. “For her I like to look for a retro inspiration, reminiscent of Twiggy and, in general, the essence of the sixties and seventies and the festivals of the time, such as Woodstock, since I think Elena fits very well in this style” , comment. “What I tend to emphasize the most are the eyelashes to create an even broader look. My trick is to add false lashes from the middle of the lash line to the very end, saturating it heavily with some kind of volumizing mascara. In the lower part I usually apply the mask vertically to create this effect ”, she relates. For the mobile eyelid, Noemi applies light colors – and even gold ones – to enlarge the look. The most common tones for her lips are nude or brownish pink.

“I like the face to have a lot of light and juiciness, leaving the T zone (forehead and nose) matte. I always apply a foundation to Elena in the same tone as hers, giving shine to the cheekbones and I usually mark the blush horizontally to give a sun-kissed effect, ”she points out.

The best of Spanish cinema passes through Gabriel Llano’s salon on Calle Velázquez in Madrid. Juana Acosta is one of the actresses who usually puts herself in her hands to take care of her hair and her makeup. “What most attracts Juana’s attention is her feline gaze and her slanted eyes. She has a lot of strength, ”says Gabriel. Her tip: “I like to play with the liner from the middle of the eye out to create more depth at the edges. Also with tab; sometimes I use false eyelashes at the outer corner of the eye to lengthen it a few more millimeters”.

A soft contouring and Juana’s good cheekbones mark the lines and highlight the harmony of the face with hair tied back that clears it up. “Ponytails and disheveled up-dos also help to pull the eye up and make Juana look like a movie,” she concludes.
