The Local Police of Vilanova i la Geltrú and the Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested four minors on Tuesday, July 25, after beating a homeless man until he was left unconscious on the ground in the town’s Market Square.

As reported by the local security body, the minors allegedly had the objective of robbing the victim and did not stop beating him with blunt objects until a group of people, who were in the area, intervened.

The Eix Diari media has published part of the video of the attack where you can see the violence of the attacks by minors towards the victim and even the objects with which they leave the man unconscious.

The local agents made the first arrest, and with the collaboration of the Mossos, those of the other three participants in the attack were made. According to the municipal police, proceedings have already been initiated for violent robbery and injuries and the four detainees have already been turned over to the Minors’ Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim has already been discharged after the injuries caused by the detainees. Even so, the investigation is still open and the authorities do not rule out that there may be more arrests.

The Vilanova i la Geltrú City Council, for its part, has condemned what happened and has made public its rejection of “any type of violence”. In addition to wishing that this type of aggression “doesn’t happen again” and giving all the support to the victim.
