Mario Vaquerizo is known for being one of the most sincere and honest artists on the cultural scene of our country. Alaska’s husband has been involved in more than one controversy for giving his opinion without fear of what they will say, something that is not to everyone’s liking.
The singer became news yesterday for uploading a video to his official Instagram account with Juan Pedro, another member of his musical band, Las Nancys Rubias. Although in the piece they had a very normal conversation, what their followers did not overlook is that Juan Pedro was wearing a shirt from the famous Valley of the Fallen, a place where Franco rested for years and which was built by prisoners republican politicians. In addition, on the garment you can read the Francoist motto: ”One, great and free”.
The publication was filled with comments in a matter of minutes attacking the protagonists of the video for uploading this type of content without thinking about the victims of the dictatorial regime. ”The group is called the Blonde Nazis”, ”What a rabble” or ”’With the shirt of the valley of the fallen, raised with the sweat and blood of the republican prisoners in full dictatorship. How bad you really are, what a disappointment” are some of the messages that some users wrote on social networks.
Hours after this controversy, Alaska’s husband appeared publicly at the Kraftwerk concert and confessed to the media that he has made the decision not to show his political opinion: ”Happy with democracy and happy with being able to exercise the right to vote. What I think is not, I am not a political leader.”
“I am an entertainer, a media worker, I come to entertain, I come to be an orchestra, I come to sing the songs of others that I like and I come to make people’s lives happier,” she said, explaining that she does not want to influence in no one.
The journalists present at the event took the opportunity to ask him about the hot topic: the breaking of the engagement between the Puerto Rican artist Rauw Alejandro and the Catalan singer Rosalía. Vaquerizo expressed that he was very sorry that they have separated, but that it is natural that the situation must be faced as normally as possible.
“I think we should stick with what Rosalía said, I love that man very much, our paths have separated and I’m going to keep the best of him and he with the best of her, let’s toast to love, love sometimes it corresponds, sometimes it breaks, but as long as there has been love, it is what lasts,” he recited before reporters and television cameras.
