The Civil Guard has arrested the alleged perpetrator of 88 crimes of robbery inside a vehicle in the towns of La Vila Joiosa and Sant Joan d’Alacant. The detainee, who had various backgrounds, has been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court No. 4 of Alicante.
At the beginning of 2022, in view of the commission of robberies inside a vehicle that were being committed in places far from the town of La Vila, such as the parking lots of the Amadorio reservoir, the cemetery or various coves on the coast, the Agents from the Investigation Area began an operation they called “Ciénagas”, with the support of uniformed patrols, carrying out a series of discreet surveillance to locate the perpetrator.
During the aforementioned surveillance, it was possible to identify an individual who made them suspicious, since, in the answers he provided when interviewing the investigators, they observed that the reasons that brought him to those places did not agree with reality.
Once the information obtained has been analysed, it is verified that the investigation intersects with that of another operation carried out by the Investigation Area of ??the Main Post of the Civil Guard of Sant Joan, with the name of operation Goneis, with the same characteristics, coordinating both units from this moment on.
After arduous research and study of evidence, sufficient evidence is obtained to attribute the responsibility of the events to a 52-year-old man who lives in Sant Vicent del Raspeig.
Finally, on April 27, the suspect is arrested, proceeding to carry out two house searches, one in El Rebolledo (Alicante) and another in Sant Vicent, finding documentation and effects that directly linked him to the robberies.
It is worth mentioning that the author, with extensive experience in this type of incident, confirmed before acting that there were no security cameras and witnesses, leaving no trace of his actions after executing the robberies.
The detainee, who has numerous records and who is accused of 88 robberies with force, was placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court No. 4 of Alicante, who ordered his release with the imposition of precautionary measures.
On the part of the Civil Guard, to avoid being a victim of this type of criminal act, it is advisable to: Do ??not leave visible objects inside the vehicle. Park in a lighted spot if possible. Check that the vehicle has been closed correctly.
