More than 16,000 people have passed through the Cambrils International Music Festival, which closed its 48th edition last night with a performance by Luz Casal. This brought to a close a week of music that began on July 28 with the rumba of the Gipsy Kings by André Reyes flooding the Parc del Pinaret. Artists such as Els Amics de les Arts, Rosario, Pablo López, Ara Malikian, Stay Homas, Dàmaris Gelabert or Miki Núñez have performed on the traditional stage this year, a lineup on a par with the other festivals that are held on these same dates along the Catalan coast.

The only negative note has been the cancellation of the This is Michael concert, the show focused on the figure of Michael Jackson, which was to be held last Friday. The strong gusts of wind that were expected, and that could reach 90 km/h, advised to cancel the event.

In total there were 9 concerts that registered an occupancy rate of 66%, attracting to the coastal town the tours of leading artists such as Pablo López, who presented his latest single, ‘Quasi’, or the Amics de les Arts, immersed this summer in the presentation of the album allà on volia. It was also possible to celebrate the 25-year career of Dàmaris Gelabert and his family shows, or the performance of Miki Núñez, who with his new album 121 starred in the charity concert thanks to which more than 2,000 euros were raised for the Swim entity for ELA.

The mayor of Cambrils, Alfredo Clua, has valued the festival as “a consolidated cultural event among the great attraction photos of the Costa Daurada”, while the president of the Clipper’s group, Juli Guiu, responsible for organizing the event, has shown their satisfaction with the reception of the public. “We wanted to offer programming for all audiences, where everyone feels represented.”
