The case of Daniel Sancho has become one of the most current media topics. As the hours go by, more information and details come to light about this mysterious murder case that has gone around the world in a matter of hours. And of course the first reactions from the environment on both sides have not been long in coming.
After being interrogated and having confessed to being guilty of the murder and dismemberment of the corpse of the well-known Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta, Daniel Sancho entered provisional prison this past Monday, where he will have to remain in isolation for ten days to comply with the anti-covid protocol that is in force in Koh Samui jail in Thailand.
His lawyer has been the only person who has been able to see him and this same Tuesday he assured before the cameras of different media outlets that Sancho “was calm.” ”I think he’s relaxed. He knows what he did, I have explained the process to him (…) he wants to plan how to live in here,” said lawyer Khun Anan.
After the 29-year-old chef’s entry into prison, all the media have echoed the issue and have begun to carry out their particular investigations to gradually unravel all the data on this mysterious matter. That has been the case of the Telecinco program Así es la vida, which has managed to interview the surgeon’s sister, Darling Arrieta, exclusively on Tuesday.
The deceased’s sister began the interview with Sandra Barneda by recounting what the last phone call she had with her late brother was like. ”Eight days ago today I received the last call from him. I received it at 8:30 p.m. ”, she began by saying it. ” The call was affectionate as always, telling that he had arrived in Bangkok, telling about the journey, the beautiful clothes that he had seen for my daughter. Whenever he went to a new place, he would bring something to my girl,” she confessed.
”From there I heard the voice for the last time. And already on Wednesday my parents were worried because Edwin communicated with them three or four times a day by calls and messages, and there were no calls or WhatsApp. Then my dad starts to worry,” he declared. The interviewee explained that then her father called her asking for the surgeon and she replied that she did not know anything about him. ”On Tuesday we lost contact with him,” she said.
Regarding the reasons that led him to travel to Thailand, Darling explained that he told them that it was a vacation and that, since he was a plastic surgeon, he took advantage of each trip to buy state-of-the-art equipment for his interventions. When Sandra Barneda asked her if they knew of the existence of Daniel Sancho, the surgeon’s sister answered categorically no. ”I knew he had a group of friends in Spain with whom he went out, but that’s it,” she said. ”I ask for justice for my brother and that they bring the body to my mother. May his death not go unpunished. He is a human being,” she confessed through tears.
