Daniel Sancho is monopolizing many hours of television and many headlines in recent days. The son of actor Rodolfo Sancho confessed to having murdered and dismembered the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta, after having reported his disappearance. Right now he is in provisional prison, in an isolation module by Covid protocol.
According to the young man, the death of the surgeon was an involuntary homicide after a strong fight between the two. However, this would not fit with the images of Sancho going to a store to buy a knife, plastic bags and cleaning products, the day before the alleged murder. According to the Bangkok Post, the actor’s son confessed to having been threatened by Arrieta with leaking intimate graphic material to destroy his family’s reputation.
After the confession, Daniel Sancho was arrested and spent a few days reconstructing the facts. “The police treat me very well, I’m having dinner with them at the best hotel on the island,” the young man told a journalist from El Programa del verano. A statement that surprised everyone, especially for being able to use his mobile phone at will.
However, hours later he headed for a special module in the Koh Samui prison in Thailand, to comply with the 10 days of isolation required by Covid protocol. “There are five people in the room,” said the prison director. Now, two days later, the requests that Sancho has made to his lawyer in order to have a better stay have come to light.
“Life here is very difficult,” said Jorge Luque, a journalist for the aforementioned program, who has traveled to Thailand to collect data. As he explained, the Thai anthem sounds “very early”, they only have 16 showers for 700 inmates , and they have to sleep on blankets, because they don’t have mattresses.
After this, it is not surprising that Daniel Sancho has begun to transfer requests to his lawyer. “He is no longer so calm and has asked for medication for anxiety,” the journalist assured. Apparently, the nurse and the doctor in charge of the new inmates have allowed Sancho to receive this medication.
But that is not all. Jorge Luque has assured that in that prison there is only one meal a day: “a little broth with bones and some rice.” Therefore, if the chef wants to eat something else, he must pay for it out of his own pocket or ask for it abroad. And that has done. “He, through his lawyer, wants them to bring him better food than what he has already tried here,” the journalist assured. Something that would already be solved.
And finally, Daniel Sancho “has asked to be able to call by phone.” The actor’s son would like to speak to his family as soon as possible. “They tell me that it is impossible. That in these first 10 days he will only have contact with his lawyer, ”Luque explained. With all this, the prison director has assured that he “has been seen a little nervous and that he has to learn what life is like in prison.”
