The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested a 29-year-old woman for stealing jewelery worth 1,730 euros, from the old woman of more than 90 years that she was caring for in Girona.

The police became suspicious when they saw that there were four sales contracts in a specialized store between July 17 and 20 in the name of the same person.

The agents were suspicious because the jewelry being sold bore an inscription whose name did not correspond to that of the seller in question. It was then that an investigation began with the local police, to find out who was behind these contracts. The establishment provided the woman’s data and the agents verified her identity.

It turned out that the woman was the caregiver of an elderly woman over 90 from Girona. The Mossos seized everything she had sold-earrings, pendants, rings or necklaces among other jewelry-and contacted the victim’s children who immediately recognized the jewelry. In total he pocketed 1,730 euros. The woman, who has no criminal record, must respond to the judge on duty when she summons her.
