The heat does not let up this summer and, therefore, spending long days soaking in the pool is one of the best plans with children that we can do this summer. Of course, always taking into account certain precautions for their safety, such as using footwear that prevents slipping, watching them in the water at all times and applying sunscreen cream.

There are children who love the water, while others find it boring to spend the day in the pool and end up getting annoying and having a tantrum. To make a day at the pool a fun experience, there are a few games you can teach your little ones to keep them entertained while also keeping them away from the screens for as long as possible.

In order to play this game, children must know how to swim and dive. In addition, it is necessary that they have diving glasses. The practice is simple: the children go under the water and one of them says a word gesturing widely with his mouth for the others to guess.

Again, you need to be avid scuba divers to be able to play underwater treasure hunts. Throw several objects into the water that sink – and that can get wet – so that the children can rescue them from the bottom of the pool.

As simple as establishing a starting line, a finish line and a swimming style for them to race (breaststroke, front crawl, on their backs…). They can also do a mat race by rowing with their arms. If there are several children, you can give more excitement to the competition by doing team relays.

Let them exploit their creativity to the maximum by telling them a pose that they must recreate when jumping into the water. For example, professions, sports, animals, action characters…

Something like playing tag in the water, with the emotion that the one who “carries it” is a shark that must pinch – carefully, of course – whoever it reaches.

The balls have a lot of versatility to play in the water. A game of volleyball, water polo, playing paddle tennis, throwing the ball away and swimming to see who can catch it first… The possibilities are very varied.

In this classic game, one participant closes his eyes and shouts “Marco”, while the rest of the players answer “Polo”. Whoever goes blind must catch them orienting themselves only by the sound of their responses and the splashes and movements in the water.

Play music for them and let them surprise the adults by devising a dance choreography or synchronized swimming in the water. They will have a great time and they will love to show you their skills in this water sport.
