The Cerdanya Film Festival lowers the curtain on its 14th edition this Sunday with a record number of 7,000 spectators, double the number of the last edition, throughout the 150 screenings of the event. The figure rises to 14,000 people if we also add the number of participants to the activities that complement the festival, such as the Cross-border Audiovisual Congress of the Pyrenees, those attending the Laboratory and the Campus, as well as the workshops in rural schools and exhibitions.

The director of the Cerdanya Film Festival, Jordi Forcada, assured that he was “very happy” and highlighted the “necessary” work of the event as the “only screen in rural areas” given the closure of cinemas.

This Saturday the awards ceremony was held at the Casino Ceretà de Puigcerdà. The event was attended by the winners and public representatives headed by the mayor of Puigcerdà, Jordi Gassió, who stressed that “it is an honor to have festivals of this type at a cultural level”.
