Agents of the National Police have arrested a woman in Alicante who is accused of committing “love theft” and robbery with violence against the elderly or with reduced mobility throughout the national territory. She even went so far as to steal jewelry whose value amounts to about 5,000 euros and offered them sexual acts to steal from them, as reported by the Headquarters in a statement.

The police investigation began after several complaints in which a completely similar modus operandi was reported, in addition to the similarities in the physical characteristics provided by the complainants.

Investigators from the Judicial Police Operations Group of the Central District Police Station of Alicante determined that the thief gave the same excuses to approach the victims, always in “loving” behavior and whose stolen material was always high-value gold jewelry.

The agents managed to identify the alleged perpetrator and verified that in the town of Alicante she had been arrested up to four times in recent months. The detainee acted throughout the Spanish geography and had committed numerous thefts by the “loving hug” method, which consists of approaching older people unexpectedly through a hug, a moment that is used by the author or author to steal the jewelry.

His modus operandi consisted of always choosing elderly people, to try to evade possible identification, alter their accent and carry out the criminal act as quickly as possible, even stealing jewelry with an approximate value of 5,000 euros. The 26-year-old detainee was made available to the Investigating Court on duty in Alicante.
