Summer does not let up in our country this Thursday and very notable highs will continue to be experienced at different points. Córdoba, Lleida, Zaragoza, Mallorca or Toledo will be some of the places where the thermometers will climb to their highest point in the next few hours, reaching 38ºC.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has announced in its forecast that in these territories the maximum will reach up to 38 degrees, even if they are points very far from each other, but that they will maintain their upward trend in thermometers despite the fact that in general stable temperatures will be maintained.

These maximums will also increase in the Cantabrian area, especially in the upper Ebro, but will suffer a significant decrease in other places such as western Galicia.

Precisely the Galician coast will be one of the protagonists of the day according to the weather forecast for this Thursday released by Aemet, since at the end of the day a front that will approach that area will cause a probable increase in cloudiness in the extreme northwest peninsular.

This will also occur in the Canary Islands, where cloudy intervals will be recorded in the north of the mountainous islands. But these territories will be the exception, since clear skies will predominate in a general way in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.

Separate mention for the Canary Islands, the firefighters continue to work to try to control the fire declared on Tuesday night in Tenerife, in a terrain of very complicated orography, which already affects some 1,800 hectares in four municipal areas.

The haze will be another of the outstanding notes this Thursday, since it will make an appearance in Melilla, the Balearic Islands and the south of the peninsula if the forecasts are met, with prominent mists and fogs also in the interior of Galicia, the Cantabrian area and the extreme eastern peninsula, as well as coastal fog in the area of ??the Strait and in Rías Baixas.

Calm winds will blow practically throughout the territory, with a western component on the Atlantic slope and a western component on the Strait and Alborán.

The most outstanding will be the trade winds in the Canary Islands; southeast component in the Balearic Islands; northeast rolling south in Galicia, and east in the eastern Mediterranean area and lower and middle Ebro.

Despite the predominantly clear skies throughout the Peninsula, the Aemet does not rule out isolated showers in points of Aragon and Catalonia. They could occur in the east of Teruel and on the northern slopes of the Pyrenees in the afternoon.
