Good afternoon. If I drink beers or wines with a low alcohol content, can I drink them more regularly? Or do I also have to be careful? Is regular beer much more fattening than non-alcoholic beer? Thank you (Juan Gómez, reader).
Hello John,
Your deduction is indeed correct. If we drink alcoholic beverages with less alcohol content, we can have a little more space for them in our diet, but it is important to bear in mind that this does not imply that they are free to consume, or even healthy.
Going out for tapas drinking three non-alcoholic beers is a very good way to reduce alcohol intake and empty calories, but it must be taken into account that these types of drinks continue to make an important caloric contribution to our diet, especially if we compare it with the water that should be the main source of hydration. They still have a small amount of alcohol and in the case of beer also some carbohydrates.
Therefore, as you very well deduced in your question, they are drinks that can be taken more frequently or in greater quantities, but without an open bar. In fact, currently thanks to the improvement in the quality of non-alcoholic beer, they have become a very good resource for when we go out of the house.
Hello good. Is it advisable to eat the fruit right after lunch or better to wait until the afternoon? Thank you. (Sonia Mejía, reader)
Hello Sonia, both options are interesting and are not exclusive.
We could even have the fruit for dessert and then another piece in the middle of the afternoon without any problem.
You may have this question because guidelines are sometimes given about when it is better to eat fruit, but it is even more important to take it, especially if it is helping us to replace other less interesting foods.
If you have heard that perhaps it is interesting to wait, it is because of some confusing information that recommends not eating fruit as soon as you finish eating. This is not true. This information does not translate into real improvements in the diet and it is far from harmful to eat fruit for dessert. The trials that have been carried out show us that it is even interesting for many reasons: improvement in iron absorption, improvement in satiety, improvement in intestinal motility…
For example, if we eat fruit for dessert, it is already a guarantee of not having a sweet or less interesting product. This same thing also happens at mid-morning or at snack time.
